Just Pictures.....

Up Close And Personal...

Just Married..

As some of you might be aware the stateof CT had its Democratic primary. The incumbent senator Joe Lieberman (know for kissing up to the republicans in more ways than one..see the picture below), lost to the challenger Ned Lamont. But it's all about Joe so in complete disregard for the democratic process he has decided to run in the November election as an independent Democrat. More here.
Joe just gave a giant F you, to the democratic voters of CT. I will be making trips to CT this fall and will work to help defeat Joe Lieberman.. a selfish, arrogant man who has no respect for the that democratic party primary voters just decided to show him the door. You cannot have it both ways Joe, you ran as a democrat and you lost, now you cannot say I want to run as an independent democrat. If Joe had won in the primary, folks would have resopected that but he has no such respect for the Democratic voters of CT. The idiot!

Congrats to Ned Lamont for showing that only slightly more than half of CT Dems have lost their minds.

Since I know you like polls so much, hows about this one:

According to Quinnipiac, running as an independent, Lieberman gets 51 percent, to 27 percent for Lamont and 9 percent for Schlesinger.

So, when ALL CT voters are considered, Lieberman clearly wins. Sounds like democracy to me! (To your foreign readers, a Senator represents all citizens of his/her state, not just those from their party)

But I guess for you Jay, when its a Democrat, party comes before principle...

karmic_jay said...

JD.. Thank you for calling more than half of America crazy. Cos that is what the latest polls show 60% are opposed to this misadventure in Iraq.
You are fast belonging to a minority of people who are on a course to disaster and won't change no matter what.
But this is so typical of wingnuts.
As for the Q poll, it will change over time.
Don't get all preachy with me about principles. If Lieberman had won the primary I would have supported him, he lost he has to accept that as a part of the democratic primary process. In other words the "mandate" was against Lieberman.
Lamont has class, he had always said if he lost he would support Joe. Joe ont he other hand has nothing but himself in mind, just like the gy who kissed him.. your dear leader.

Dadoji said...

KJ: I did see a number of shapely people around me lately as you know. So..... ;-)

I am not sure I would shout against JL running as independent. He has the right to do that. The real mandate is the election. Primaries are restricted to the party methinks?

Jordan's Dad said...

So lemme get this straight.

Lieberman has a majority of CT citizens supporting him while only about a quarter support Lamont. And that's a mandate AGAINST Lieberman?

Who's running from the truth now Jay?

Crazy are those who will vote for a country club liberal based on one issue.

But CT is lovely in the fall, so have fun! Dont forget your oaktag and sharpies...

Maybe you can get a picture of you and Ned together! (If not, maybe Jane Hamsher can photoshop you in to a campaign photo... hee hee! I crack myself up!)

@Dadoji - of course you are totally right. But we are seeing that "Democrats" arent really too crazy about "democracy" these days...

Aditi said...

I wasnt sure you could run as an independent democrat should you not get voted in the primaries..interesting..
Well in a way i like the two party system compared to the zillion parties we have here.. but who knows.. maybe an occasional third choice never hurts

He can run as a independent no one is stopping him. He wont get my support and as you can see no one in the party is going to support him either.
People like JD support him only cos of a small chance that a reoublican might win the seat. Joe L is an useful idiot for them and only so long as he supports dear leader.
He can call himself an independent but he is not what he says he is " an independent democrat". Had he won he would not have run as an independent. He is doing it only cos he got beat.

Hey JD go get some sleep man. I was talking about the mandate against Joe in the democratic primary. And the hypocrite that you are don't quote polls now. The only poll that counts (as per you) happened in the primary last night and Joe lost.

And you would not even know the truth is it hit you in the face..get a clue. It's funny to see you tie yourself up into knots to defend your leader and now Joe L? Pathetic.
Ofocurse you crack yourself up, look at the mirror.

karmic_jay said...

@Aditi. Most people would not run as independents if they lost their party's primary. But it's Joe L.

@Opin.. :)

Republicans' nightmare said...

Liberman lost for a variety of reasons. Of course the biggest was his position on Iraq, for which he has always been in lockstep agreement with Bush and all his Republican toadies.

Maybe Mr. JD can explain why voting against Iraq war cheerleaders is good. More importantly, maybe he can explain why we are in Iraq at all. Because to me, apparently like tha majority of Americans, it seems like that has been a complete disaster, all based on a pack of lies that were sold to an unsuspecting American public and an obliging congress that was kept in the dark about the true facts.

And if you can't adequately explain why we went to war in Iraq, maybe you should just shut up. Or learn to construct a logical reality-based argument. Because there are a lot of people that have died because people like you were trying to intimidate people like me since the inception of this war. And you are still trying. I think what bugs you most about Lieberman's loss is that you are getting scared that liberals/progressives are starting to show a backbone.

Get used to it.

Republicans' nightmare said...

i meant "explain why voting FOR Iraq war cheerleaders is good."

repubs' nightmare..whoever you are, you just hit that one out of the park. BTW JD don't do logic.

Hey JD, I'd like to hear your explanation for why we're in Iraq too. Do you really think Bush and Cheney told the truth? Do you really think it has been worth it to the Iraqis? Many tens of thousands dead so far. The beginning of a civil war. Do you really think it is worth it to us? No credibility when it comes to future weapons claims. Iran feels threatened and expedites the development of nuclear weapons. Recruitment for terrorism in the Middle East surges. Terrorist organizations make democratic gains in numerous governments, including two that are now fighting Israel and one (Iran) that may soon have the power to destroy it. Innocents are slaughtered throughout the region (as Bush goes on vacation). Hundreds of billions of our tax dollars and thousands of American lives are lost in Iraq.

That's why Lieberman lost the primary. He is partly to blame and in your own pathetic way so are you.

And yes, Hamsher screwed up. No excuses. It was in poor taste and just plain wrong. But look in the mirror. Your party has a long history of this kind of behavior. Two recent examples: the 2000 primary race in which Bush supporters falsely accused John McCain of having fathered a black child out of wedlock and a GOP fundraiser last year involving the beating of a Jesse Jackson effigy hanging from a rope.

dem said...

Hey JD, now would be a good time to bring up the fact that Clinton had an affair while he was President. Everything your party has done since then really pales in comparison.

I don't know how the GOP managed to sell itself as the party of values. The only values you care about relate to money, not ethics. Oh yeah, and other people's sex lives.

> He can call himself an independent but he is not what he says he is " an independent democrat".

That I agree with.

Jordan's Dad said...

I shouldnt have to explain to you why we invaded Iraq. You should listen to your own party...

I guess the people below are liars too? (note: one of them was vice president of the US) But apparently a liar that supports gay marriage and abortion is better than one that doesnt. Just stop pretending you give a crap about "our troops" or U.S. security in general. That's the most insulting part.

So here 'tis:

"There is no doubt that . Saddam Hussein has reinvigorated his weapons programs. Reports indicate that biological, chemical and nuclear programs continue apace and may be back to pre-Gulf War status. In addition, Saddam continues to redefine delivery systems and is doubtless using the cover of a licit missile program to develop longer-range missiles that will threaten the United States and our allies."
Letter to President Bush, Signed by Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL,) and others, Dec, 5, 2001.

"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass destruction and the means of delivering them."
Sen. Carl Levin (d, MI), Sept. 19, 2002.

"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical weapons throughout his country."
Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002.

"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as Saddam is in power."
Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002.

"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seing and developing weapons of mass destruction."
Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002.

"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October1998. We are confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities. Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..."
Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002.

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force — if necessary — to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."
Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002.

"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear weapons within the next five years . We also should remember we have alway s underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of weapons of mass destruction."
Sen. Jay Rockerfeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002,

"He has systematically violated, over the course of the past 11 years, every significant UN resolution that has demanded that he disarm and destroy his chemical and biological weapons, and any nuclear capacity. This he has refused to do."
Rep. Henry Waxman (D, CA), Oct. 10, 2002.

"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to terrorists, including al Qaeda members. It is clear, however, that if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons."
Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002

"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass destruction. "[W]ithout question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal, murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to miscalculation. And now he has continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass destruction is real ...
Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003.

All those people you quoted believed the Bush administration when it was touting its misinformation, just as the public did. And anybody who questioned it was branded a traitor, as your ilk continues to do to my side. I have no doubt about who had a clearer head. As I said in a previous post, your side has been wrong on all the big issues in the last 5+ years, and you couldn't refute a single one of those claims.

But back to the original topic: as far as a lot of people are concerned, the big unanswered question is whether the misinformation that Bush/Cheney sold congressional dems and the public in the runup to the Iraq War was knowingly false. And the evidence so far looks pretty bad for your heroes. One might think that if it were all that easy to exonerate your guys, Pat Roberts would have released his report by now. But it's over a year late. Do you think it will come out before the fall election? I won't be holding my breath.

You know where to stick your sanctimony. It's the same stinky black hole all your thoughts seem to emanate from. And I stick to what I said before: the deaths of tens of thousands of people, the wildfire in the Middle East, the populist rise of terrorist organizations and the increased determination of new terrorist recruits to attack Americans and Israelis are all on the heads of people like you.

Thanks for that.

I'll be away for 4 days. Feel free to attack me without fear of a response. Hasn't that been the modus operandi of your side? You better be prepared for that to change soon.

Aah those quotes. All those democrats saw the same intelligence that we know was never up to speed with the facts on the ground. They also felt they had to look strong on national security. But unlike you who has his mouth at the teat of Karl Rove, we look at facts and decide if a change of course is needed.
Pretty much everyone on the democratic side know now that they were mislead. The intel was not stellar to begin with, it was then doctored by the neocons.
Take your mouth off the teat maybe then you can think.

All those quotes are post 9/11 when everyone felt the need to look strong on national security, they saw the same evidence, which was faulty and cherry-picked. Everyone knew Saddam was violating UN resolutions and the condemnation was bipartisan. DUH!

So those quotes mean nothing except to bolster your own sad and delusional state.

Just stop pretending you give a crap about "our troops" or U.S. security in general. That's the most insulting part.

Do you... you dumbcheney? Don't act as if you are fighting that war you moron while you sit comfortably ensconed in your suburban existence. Do you have those yellow magnets supporting the troops that makes you feel you are doing your bit to fight the war? Did you think twice about the lack of bullet proof vests, lack of armored humvees or the $8 billion missing in Iraq?
The latest Harvard study shows the war might cost about 2 Trillion. You have kids? How does it feel to have them take up this burden?
Look them in the eye and tell them that?
You won't cos you don't have the guts. You sit behind that keyboard thinking you are doing your bit, when all you want is more tax cuts and no sacrifice.
So shut that piehole and don't pretend to be insulted. You have to have a conscience and an ability to understand when you are wrong and change course. And to be insulted you have to have those you have neither. So don't whine, go to your family and pretend to care.

Here are some more racist acts to "crack up" JD:

If you want to save yourself some time, I can summarize for you. George Allen, Republican candidate for President in 2008, used a racist slur to refer to a man of Indian descent at a campaign speech.

So what do you say JD? Party before principle? Party before family? Or is your wife Pakistani, so you can disregard the slur because it has nothing to do with you?
